Founded in 2021, the Black and LatinX Network aims to provide students a community for professional development and social expansion.
Throughout the year the group hosts roundtable discussions, attends dinners, provides recruiting resources, and more. The Black and Latinx Affinity Group serves as an internal resource for members to share concerns and garner career advice from their peers.
In addition, this group connects students to members of other diversity and inclusion organizations within Penn State.
The Asian Student Network (ASN) in NLCG was founded in Spring of 2022, soon after the launch of two other affinity groups – The Women’s Network and the Black and Latinx Student Network. Originally founded by two NLCG members, Aayush Dalal and Kacey Lo, this affinity group aims to build a community of students from Asian (including South Asian, SE Asian, Middle Eastern) background. With a membership of more than 15 students, ASN hosts community get togethers, corporate events, and resources to enhance diversity and inclusivity.
Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment for Asian NLCG members with the end goal of making NLCG a more diverse and inclusive student organization.
Our vision is to build an engaging group of future professionals which utilize ASN resources to their full potential and work towards strengthening the community.
Founded in the summer of 2021, the Women’s Network aims to provide a supportive community for women and female-identifying members of the Nittany Lion Consulting Group.
Women have statistically encountered and continue to encounter issues throughout their professional experience such as equal pay, equal career opportunity, lack of support from their male counterparts, harassment, and overall being discounted. The Women’s Network was founded with these issues in mind with the intent to become a space where NLCG’s female members felt empowered and supported. It was also created with the intent to allow its female members to connect with one another, talk with each other to find identity and belonging, and to have their voices heard.
The Women’s Network @ NLCG has hosted great events over the course of the past semesters. These have included state speakers, coffee chats, workouts, and other social events. In addition to the community it offers, it is also a place of opportunity. Another perk of the Women’s Network is that it has its own database of consulting, finance, and technology opportunities specifically for women for its members to access.
